Athlete Tip: Pass Blocking

“The main goal is to stop this guy from getting to the quarterback. This guy can range from 6’5 350lbs to somebody pretty small like 5’8, they all have their different strengths and you have to come prepared every week.” Offensive Tackle Mason Hill runs through some of his techniques when it comes to pass blocking. Jennifer Lorang from B.C. Stitchers visited the OFA Fiber Arts class to discuss “Hearts for Hospice”. Each student received a kit, provided by B.C. Stitchers, to design their own heart to donate to Mercy House. Students are proud to use their skills to give back to the community.

In the Classroom: Real World Science Stream Testing

“They got to see spikes in some areas had more, and some areas where the way had less sodium chloride in it. Owego Free Academy students got a powerful lesson in Power & Energy Management (PEM) thanks to an amazing collaboration!

Students spent a full day learning about PEM, which is critical for sustainable energy, including electric power, propulsion, and energy storage. The program featured insights from experts at Broome Community College and BAE Systems.

Students will also have the opportunity for tours of BCC, Binghamton University, and BAE Systems. Such an incredible opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world applications!
