On December 15, 2023, the local organization Cops 4 A Cause provided a generous donation to help students and community members in the Owego Apalachin Central School District.
Cops 4 A Cause and the Tioga County Sheriff's Office donated $1500 in Gift Certificates to the Community Shop for OACSD to give to families during this holiday season.
Owego Apalachin’s Holiday Food Fund is a program where staff members put together food baskets for families during the Holidays.
“This generous donation from Cops 4 a Cause will allow us to help over 30 additional families this year.”, said Robyn Wood, Owego Apalachin School Psychologist.
OA Home-School Coordinator Jennifer Smith added, “We are thankful for the donation and the additional support for the families within the OA School District”.
Cops 4 A Cause (C4C) is a 501 c (3) non-profit charity located in New York State comprised of a group of active and retired law enforcement members and supported by community members. The organization was founded in 2018 as an avenue to raise funds to give back to the communities where we live and work. As a result of our fundraising efforts, C4C can provide financial support to organizations, individuals, and their families at times when they need it most. Through positive public interactions, our goal is to improve the relationship that currently exists between law enforcement members and members of the community and to ultimately build a foundation for the growth of a stronger safer community!

Good Morning, OA School Community. Due to the inclement weather, OACSD will operate on a Two Hour Delay schedule today, Monday, December 11, 2023.
Two-Hour Delay: Elementary starts at 10:00 am, and Middle/High School starts at 11:00 am
Bus stop arrivals will be delayed the same number of hours. During inclement weather, buses may be delayed past a typical arrival time. Download the Traversa Ride360 bus tracking app to see updated arrival times. Get more information here: https://www.oacsd.org/page/transportation
OA REMINDER: In case of an unscheduled school delay, closing, or early dismissal, our goal is to notify the community efficiently and promptly. We know our decision to close schools in poor weather can be burdensome to families due to childcare and work schedules. We consider canceling school an exception and strongly emphasize keeping our schools open. Students benefit both academically and socially by being in school.
Please take a few minutes to review the school closing procedures: https://5il.co/1kpsd
